Entrance

This section is the introduction to the exhibition which includes the title of the exhibition, “Jamaica 50: Constructing a Nation”, accompanied by the introduction text. Within this section also are the commemorative spade and two cartoons from the Jamaica gleaner on independence.
Federation & Independence

This section focuses on the West Indies Federation (1958-1962), its establishment, termination, and Jamaica’s transition to independence thereafter in 1962. Among the objects displayed in this area is a bust of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the Federation Flag and Coat of Arms.
Natural History

This section shows a few of the different species of animals and plants that are endemic to Jamaica such at the Brown Owl (Patoo), Yellow Snake, Doctor Bird Lignum Vitea and Blue Mahoe, among others.
Creative Arts & Politics

This section highlights few Jamaican artists whose works have contributed to the development of Jamaican cultural heritage and identity since independence. Displayed here are works from personalities like Ma Lou, Edna Manley and Everald Brown. This section also displays the two major political parties in Jamaica, the People’s National Party (PNP) and the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and their role in the governing of Jamaica over the past 50 years.
